Using Used Cooking Oil As Solid Soap To Reduce Environmental Pollution University General
The people of Pedawa Village are very concerned about their environment, one of the organizers of the Garbage Bank in Pedawa Village said that the Pedawa people are still unable to process the leftover oil from the process of frying food, or what is commonly known as used cooking oil, so far used cooking oil is disposed of in the sewer. Of course it will pollute the environment.
At the request of the community group in Pedawa Village, the Udayana Serving Team, chaired by Mrs. Ir. Kadek Diana Harmayani, ST. MT. PhDs. IPM, with lecturers from the Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, held a dedication to Pedawa Village on 16 August 2022 to provide an explanation regarding environmental pollution that occurs as a result of dumping used cooking oil into sewers or onto the land around the house and processing used cooking oil into soap to reduce environmental pollution.
The Balawa community group in Pedawa was very enthusiastic about receiving the explanations presented and actively participating in activities. Soap making generally uses ingredients in the form of oil and alkaline solutions through a saponification process. So this service will provide knowledge to the public, how is the process of using used cooking oil into solid soap
