The Environmental Engineering Study Program Udayana University conducted a comparative study activity at the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Dipoenogoro University, Semarang and the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil and Planning, Indonesian Islamic University, Yogyakarta, on 31 October - 1 November 2022. The focus of this activity was to find out the process of implementing the Merdeka curriculum Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) and laboratory management in the two environmental engineering departments. Lecturer of Environmental Engineering Study Program at Udayana University who represented in this comparative study were Ir. Kadek Diana Harmayani, ST. MT. PhDs. IPM (Coordinator Of The Environmental Engineering Study Program Udayana University); Ida Ayu Rai Widhiawati, ST. MT (Head of Environmental Quality Lab), and Dr. Eng. Ni Made Pertiwi Jaya, ST. M.Si.., M.Eng (Head of the Curriculum Team, Environmental Engineering Study Program Udayana University).

This comparative study was carried out because the The Environmental Engineering Study Program Udayana University is a new study program so it still needs to get input and an overview from Environmental Engineering study programs from other universities that are more established and superior. The Environmental Engineering Study Program at Diponegoro University and the Indonesian Islamic University of Yogyakarta were chosen to be the destination for the comparative study because the two study programs have BAN-PT accreditation with the title of Excellence and have been accredited by the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).

During a visit to UII Yogyakarta, the Udayana University Study Program was welcomed by Dr. Hijrah Purnama Putra, S.T., M.Eng.. as Secretary of the The Environmental Engineering Study Program UII, while at UNDIP Semarang was welcomed by Dr.-Ing. Sudarno, ST., M.Sc. as the Head of the UNDIP Environmental Engineering S1 Department. The activity began with a profile presentation and implementation of the MBKM curriculum in each Department of Environmental Engineering. The meeting continued with a campus tour to see laboratory facilities owned.

According to the Coordinating Study Program for Environmental Engineering at Udayana University, this activity was very useful for increasing knowledge and insight and having an impact on the development of Environmental Engineering Study Program at Udayana University. It is hoped that in the future cooperation will be realized in the fields of education, research, and community service.
