PPK Ormawa 2025 Visitation: Environmental Engineering Student Association of Udayana University Showcases Real Climate Action in Tihingan Village University General
The 2025 Program for Strengthening the Capacity of Student Organizations (PPK Ormawa) team from the Environmental Engineering Student Association (HMTL) of Udayana University welcomed a visitation from the Belmawa Team of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek). The visitation took place at two locations: the Nusantara Hall, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, and the Tihingan Traditional Village Hall in Klungkung.
The visiting team, consisting of Hari Jefri Vernando and Sahran Saputra, directly observed the implementation of the Climate Village Program (Program Kampung Iklim) led by HMTL students. The event was also attended by various stakeholders, including representatives from the Environmental and Land Agency (DLHP) of Klungkung Regency, the Klungkung Health Office, the Banjarangkan Subdistrict Office, the Head of Tihingan Village and local authorities, the village’s Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas officers, community leaders, teachers, Sekaa Kertih and Sekaa Kertih Cilik groups, as well as collaborative partners such as Bali Wastu Lestari, Sri Rejeki Main Waste Bank, Aliansi News ID, Social Project Bali, and the Character Development and Community Service Unit (UPKP) of Udayana University.

In his remarks, I Wayan Sugiarta, Head of Tihingan Village, expressed his appreciation for the students’ contribution in raising public awareness of climate change: “The students’ PPK Ormawa program on the Climate Village initiative has provided new knowledge for our community to prevent climate change. Even if climate change is inevitable, the community now understands how to respond and reduce its impacts. Tihingan Village fully supports this program from planning and implementation to monitoring and sustainability,” he said.
The visitation agenda included an exhibition of adaptation and mitigation programs, field visits to residents’ homes, and interactive discussions between the implementation team and visitors. Closing the event, Hari Jefri Vernando delivered an inspiring message to the students: “PPK Ormawa is a powerful program. Imagine—when you serve and help the community, countless prayers come from the people you’ve helped. Those prayers will one day become your blessings for success,” he encouraged.

Through PPK Ormawa 2025, the Environmental Engineering Student Association of Udayana University reaffirms its commitment to providing science-based, practical solutions in environmental engineering to help create climate-resilient and sustainable villages.
