Expanding Horizons Through Collaboration with Environmental Engineering Study Programs at UPN Veteran Jawa Timur and Airlangga University University General
On October 31st to November 1st, 2023, the Environmental Engineering Study Program at Udayana University initiated a significant partnership with two Engineering Faculties, namely the Faculty of Engineering at the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jawa Timur (UPN Veteran Jawa Timur) and the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Airlangga. This visit aimed to identify potential mutually beneficial research collaborations.
Collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering at UPN Veteran Jawa Timur
During the visit to the Faculty of Engineering at UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, the Environmental Engineering Study Program at Udayana University achieved a positive outcome with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement encompasses various aspects, including research, community service, collaboration in scholarly publications, and the exchange of reviewers for respective academic journals. This marks a promising start for a robust collaboration between the two institutions to support the advancement of science and technology.
In attendance during this visit were the Vice Rector I of UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, the Dean, Vice Dean I, Vice Dean II, Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Engineering and Science at UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, as well as the Coordinator of the Environmental Engineering Study Program and their respective teams.
Prof. Euis Nurul Hidayah, ST., MT., Ph.D (Vice Rector I of UPN Veteran Jawa Timur) stated, "This collaboration will help us explore broader research potential and enhance the quality of education in the field of Environmental Engineering. We hope to achieve many accomplishments together."
Discussion and Visit to the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Airlangga
The visit to the Faculty of Science and Technology at Universitas Airlangga proceeded smoothly. Currently, both parties are engaged in further discussions to outline joint activities and formulate a more detailed cooperation agreement. The Environmental Engineering Study Program at Udayana University was also given the opportunity to tour various supporting facilities, particularly laboratories and waste management units managed by the Environmental Engineering Study Program at Universitas Airlangga. The visit included the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Department Secretary of Biology, the Coordinator of the Environmental Engineering Study Program, and their teams.
During this visit, Dr. Eko Prasetyo K, ST, DEA. (Coordinator of the Environmental Engineering Study Program at Universitas Airlangga) expressed, "We are highly open to collaborating with the Environmental Engineering Study Program at Udayana University. Together, we can create greater innovation and contributions to the understanding and handling of environmental issues."
Through these collaborations, the Environmental Engineering Study Program at Udayana University aspires to accelerate its development through partnerships with other Environmental Engineering programs at universities throughout Indonesia. This collaboration is expected to foster solutions for the increasingly complex environmental challenges in the future.
